PAWS for a Friend - Proposal
It is my hope that the information provided on this website will help improve the world by providing invaluable information easily to those who choose to share their lives with furry feline friends and who want to learn more about the health and wellbeing for their new or perhaps older feline friend.
The goal and purpose of this website called PAWS for a Friend is clearly stated in the mission statement,Our mission is to save and enhance the lives of our furry feline friends while educating, enlightening, and enlisting others in support of this cause.
The target audience for this website is for anyone who loves animals - especially felines. I want this website to be a resource for adoption/rescue, nutrition, health and wellness, and products (necessities and playtime favorites).
There are several website characteristics that will be kept in mind when designing and developing this website for this audience. The website will need to have a fresh appearance - one that is visually appealing, polished, and professional. It will be easy to use and load fast. Most importantly it will contain current/up-to-date information. The user's experience in addition to the information being presented will keep the user on the website and keep them coming back.
It is important to make sure a website has content relevance and content usefulness. This keeps the user coming back. I plan on making sure that the information is updated often and continues to provide content that is useful to the user. Building a long-term relationship with the user is key to any website. Keeping this relevance and usefulness will not only keep a user but hopefully bring more users to the site.
I plan for this website to have four pages in addition to the main home page. The first page is labeled Adoption. The other three pages are labeled Nutrition, Health and Wellness, and the last one labeled Playtime.
For this website to be successful, each stage of development will be addressed. There are six basic development stages for any website. These stages include: strategy and planning, design, content writing, development and programming, testing and reviewing, and finally site launch.
Looking at information describing these stages and looking at professional documented timeline estimates the following is how I see this site being timed out or scheduled for success. Strategy and planning for this site will take two weeks, design will take four weeks, content writing will take five weeks, development and programming will take six weeks, testing and reviewing will take two weeks, and last is site launch which will take one day.
Since this website is all informational, there will only be references used. It is important to use experts for content in the areas of health and wellness and nutrition to ensure the information is accurate. This site will NOT have personal opinion under these two pages. The adoption page will provide information about each feline needing a forever home. In addition, the page may provide personal information that could help the person or family who may be interested in adoption/rescue of a feline. Playtime page can be a little more relaxed. This is a fun page to provide information on how to keep your feline healthy, active, and entertained. References for the products used will be noted.
For this website I plan on a combination of both building and acquiring graphic/media content. Some of the acquired graphic/media content will come from various sources. I plan on gathering stock photos from a website called Shutterstock. I use them often and am very familiar with what they have to offer. Since the website has an adoption/rescue page these images will come from the adoption program. Graphic/media content for toys and various foods and snacks will come from the manufacturer's websites. Note: research will properly be done to ensure that the graphics and media content is done legally with the companies that own the images or content and credit will be given. When acquiring graphic/media you must abide by the copyright laws.
The website will be updated often if not daily - especially because of the adoption/rescue page. I plan on being the person who updates the site. I will have personal contacts with veterinarians, adoption/rescue programs, and various websites that have proven information and facts. I will research new products and foods and provide the information. In addition, what I find to be most important, especially when I am searching for information, is the current date noted on the site. I plan on keeping that relevant, so the user will know that the information is current and up-to-date.
